WEEK 1/2/3/4 REFLECTION

WEEK1

26/4/2019 - I am going to base my documentary on another one that I have watched and it will begin with the most shocking/ impactful answers of the people I interview as a opening brief. I am going to find a title which makes it sound very interesting. over exaggerating things makes it a lot more touching. I have searched a lot about how documentaries are filmed and what is the best angle, I feel ready to start my production.

WEEK2

3/05/2019 - I couldn't be able to do much this week for my reflection because I have been away for the whole week but I have completed a lot more of my research on colourism specially in social media such as instagram, I have talked to Marvin which he knows a lot of black history, when it has started, and how we handle it. I have also done a mind map to help me see the most important points to focus on

WEEK3

10/05/2019 (https://youtu.be/tBCtX41Zpcc) - I have done my focus group with three people and got to hear the work and idea of all three of them. I also showed my idea and we all got feedback, majority was good and some of it implying we need improvement. I showed them the 30 second trailer I had done with the footage I had feedback that the sound at the background had to be turned down so that the viewers are able to proper understand what is being said in the documentary, I also explained that I am planning on use some effects to make the documentary look more cinematic

WEKK4

17/5/2019 - This week I have done recording all my footage that I planned on, I don't have much time anymore to do the voice over so I will just use the footage I have already, some of it has background noise and I will try my best to remove it. filming was easy and due to my past research I already knew what I needed and how to handle stuff. Me and the science teacher planned on meeting at 2pm which being punctual was very good because we were able to finish everything including the set up and choosing location in 15 min.

WEEK5

23/5/2019 - this week's reflection finishes today (Thursday) because today is the deadline for everyone and I've done the most to finish my editing in those 5 days, it was a bit challenging because I couldn't find the right soundtrack that was copyrighted, it took time. I have finished putting all the footage together and edited, published on YouTube and shared it with other people so that I can get feedback on it for my future evaluation.

5/6/2019 - Today I have officially finishes all my work including pre-production reflection, production reflection, post-production reflection, distribution, evaluation and screenshots.

DOCUMENTARY MINI SCRIPT/ TREATMENT

FIRST PLOT POINT:
1. I will come up with bullet points; about coloursim. where there is going to be a voice that I haven't chosen yet who is going to 'narrate' it.
2. I will have my questions ready to ask the people I have chosen to be part of my documentary, this is when the subject start to unroll.




SECOND PLOT POINT:
1. The second plot is when people come with their opinions and what they know about colourism.
2.   


CLIMAX:
1. Where people start getting against each other, and that's where the disagreements and entertainment starts.

SYNOPSIS

My documentary is going to start from long shots of streets in Tottenham and Stratford; then, I will get some shots of the college's corridor and canteen, whilst there is a voice over talking about the history of colourism and its history.

Then I am going to get some people to talk about their opinion on it. I plan to film it on a mid-shot and get cuts of about 5 seconds, depending on how much they have to talk about. at the same time I am going to use adobe premiere pro to edit the videos I can export from social media; so that it gives more points to my documentary and makes it seem realistic, and less boring to the viewer. There are going to be various shots while there's the voice over.

the subject that is going to be unfolded is colourism, where it is going to show different opinions of different people that I am going to interview. this story is significant, not just for me but for other teenagers because we are the ones who most go through this situation. I plan to tell a great story through both narrative and visual description, to fulfil that I am going to use other videos and images from the internet and add it to my project. I am going to capture the personal and human element of the story, which is when it becomes a problem within people which darker and lighter skin; not only; as there are people who also intent to become darker, using make-up and other processes, usually known as tanned. I am going to engage the audience with the video and make them feel like this story must be told.
